About Us
The Baltimore Chapter of the VSU Alumni Association is an active group of individuals eager to socialize with fellow trojans, engage in service projects, and support the growth and development of VSU. Although we have regularly scheduled annual events (e.g., Founders Day Celebration, Summer Cookout, and Annual Holiday Party), we approach each year looking for new ways to support our alma mater. In addition, our arms are always open to welcome new members.

President
Nicole graduated from VSU in 1993 and is the previous Vice President of the chapter. Currently, she is the Dean of Student Development at Baltimore City Community College.

Vernese Holmes
Recording Secretary
Vernese was graduated from VSU in 1992 with a B.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology. She is a newly elected member of the VSUAA Executive Board serving in the capacity of Recording Secretary. Currently, she works for the Office of Information Technology in Baltimore County Government.
Dainekia M. Jones

Dainekia graduated from VSU in 1996 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology. She is a member of the chapters scholarship committee. Currently she works as a Senior Analyst at Verizon. dmjones.vsu@

Kara C. King Bess, CPA
Treasurer
Kara graduated from VSU in 1982 and received her MBA from Columbia University in 1984. She has been our Treasurer since 2016 after serving in an Interim role following the death of our previous Treasurer in 2015. Kara is Vice President of King, King & Associates, a local public accounting firm in Baltimore.

Richard Carey
Parliamentarian
Richard graduated from VSU in 1962 and is a lifetime member of the VSUAA, He has been our Parliamentarian since 2016. Richard retired from the US Military after 20 years of service.

Sherrie Scott
Chaplain
Sherrie graduated from VSU in 1982. She has previously served the Baltimore Chapter as President, Vice President, and Secretary. Sherrie retired from the Dept of Justice.
